Resident Teacher
The Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Florida is western Buddhist nun Gen Kelsang Demo. Gen Demo has been studying and practicing Buddhism for many years under the guidance of her teacher, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, who gave her the title Gen, indicating she is an ordained teacher in the Kadampa Tradition.
Gen Demo is admired as a Buddhist teacher and in particular she is known for her warmth and clear presentation of Buddha's teachings. She is an inspiring example of how to integrate Buddha's teachings into modern life.

Kelsang Dornyi is an American Buddhist Monk and the Administrative Director of KMC Florida. He has been studying Buddhism formally for 7 years and has volunteered around the world to build Kadampa Buddhist Temples and World Peace Cafes. He is known for his practical and light-hearted approach to Buddha's teachings.
David Sears has been studying meditation for many years is currently studying Kadampa Buddhism at KMC Florida.
Elizabeth Barrett has been instrumental in the development of KMC Florida and is currently studying on the Teacher Training Program. Her warm smile and loving heart are an inspiration to the students and community of KMC Florida.
Luis Villalon is a resident at KMC Florida and recently moved to Sarasota from New York City where he studied Kadampa Buddhism formally at Chakrasambara Buddhist Center for the past seven years.
Luis is appreciated for his clear, heartfelt, and engaging teachings.Nancy Sturman has been studying Buddhism for many years and is currently a student on the Teacher Training Program at KMC Florida. She volunteers her time to assist, teach and manage KMC Florida's beautiful bookstore. She is greatly admired for her practical and powerful teachings.
Sandra Tracey has been studying Kadampa Buddhism for over 12 years and is currently teaching Dharma for Kids as well as adults classes. Having children and grandchildren of her own, she has first hand experience of how to practice Dharma in everyday life.
