Open House & Tours

Periodically through out the year Kadampa Meditation Center will open it’s doors and invite the general public in for guided tours of the temple and its facilities.

Open Hours & Tours

Kadampa Meditation Center Florida has regular open hours for anyone to drop in. During this time, the facility is open to everyone to enjoy the meditation rooms, bookstore, grounds and community room.

Monday – Saturday
10:00am – 12:30pm
4:00pm – 6:00pm

Buddhist Art

Housed inside the main meditation room is a complete Buddhist shrine whose main statues were cast, painted and gilded by a dedicated team of Buddhist artists from around the world.  The largest statue and central figure is an eight foot statue of Buddha Shakyamuni, the founder of the Buddhist religion in this world. On either side of him are Buddha’s of Wisdom and Compassion, Arya Tara and Avalokiteshvara.  As a bird needs two wings to fly to its destination, Buddhist practitioners must develop their wisdom and compassion to reach the goal of enlightenment.

Open Meditation

During the times where there is no scheduled meditation session or class, visitors are welcome to sit quietly in the meditation room to admire the artwork, enjoy the blessed and peaceful meditation space, engage in their own meditation practice or read a book from our lending library.

Group Visits

KMC Florida is also open to hosting school or group visits.  Please contact us at info@MeditationInSarasota.org to arrange a visit. Students are also welcome to come to any classes or drop in during open hours.
